Rethinking the Sustainability of the African Tech Business Model
Introduction
The African Tech Industry has grown considerably in the last two decades, with an identifiable surge in innovation and investment. However, there are concerns about the sustainability of the current business models deployed by tech entrepreneurs. This gap, as observed by industry stakeholders, has fuelled our resolve at People Capacity Management (PCM) to organize this tech conference aimed at “Rethinking The Sustainability of the African Tech Business Model” to address this issue.

What to expect
PCM will expose fifteen (15) tech start-ups and their promoters with compelling business ideas to potential investors while they also get the opportunity to attend a fully sponsored six (6) weeks training programme with our affiliated company, PCM Business Academy.
Amongst several key issues to be discussed at the conference, is the leaning on foreign investment in the African tech space. While foreign investment has been essential in the growth of the industry, there are concerns that it could lead to a situation where African Tech companies become subservient to foreign investors, which may deny the entrepreneurs the opportunity to solve Africa-specific challenges.
Another critical issue to be discussed is the lack of sustainable business structures that support growth in the African tech industry. While there have been some success stories, there have also been a lot of failed start-up fintech businesses. There are concerns that too much emphasis has been on business expansion and hypergrowth to the detriment of adequate structures that can support the long-term growth and sustainability of these businesses. This leads to situations where many promising tech start-ups wrestle to survive in this rapidly changing business environment.
Finally, this event will feature some of the most influential and innovative minds in the field of Technology, thus providing a dynamic and interactive platform for participants and industry experts/professionals to have stimulating conversations and networking opportunities. With a wide range of keynote speakers and panel discussions, attendees can explore ground-breaking technologies, discover new business opportunities, and gain valuable insights into the ever-evolving tech landscape. Attendees will gain insight from high-tech conversations with sector-specific engagements. Whether you are a tech enthusiast or a seasoned professional, Africa TechEnt Conference is the perfect place to learn, network, and get inspired.
